Alyssa Butcher transformed her body and her life by dedicating herself to exercise and nutrition.

From her “rock bottom” point to now, she’s lost over 80 pounds with a 13% decrease in body fat. In between the before and after, Alyssa has had to overcome many grueling obstacles (literally and figuratively). 

And as is the case for many people, her hardships are rooted in a difficult childhood.   

Alyssa’s Years of Struggle

Alyssa was first introduced to JimStoppani.com and JYM Supplement Science by a friend in 2016 while training for an obstacle course race (OCR). Alyssa was in her 20s at the time and had already experienced her fair share of adversity. 

“My sister and I were brought up in an unhealthy environment riddled with alcoholism and addiction,” she says. “I was always pushing myself to be involved in sports (cheerleading, basketball, softball) because it kept me busy and away from my home life.”

When Alyssa was 15 years old, her mother died of a drug overdose. “At that point,” she says, “I had to put all of my athletic goals on pause because I had to step up and raise my sister [who was only 4 at the time]. I had my first child at 18, and two more children between 21 and 24. I spent a lot of years putting my health on the back burner because I was so focused on taking care of everyone else.”

All of these life experiences made the 2016 introduction that much more impactful.

“When I first implemented Jim’s knowledge, programs, and supplements into my life, it was a total game changer for me,” Alyssa says. “I trained hard for months leading up to my first race and was very happy with the results I was getting. But life got in the way again, and in 2021 I found myself struggling hard to train for another race.”

Alyssa’s Transformation and Results

Alyssa’s rock bottom moment came in 2022 when she finished an OCR but was physically and mentally overwhelmed in doing so. 

“I threw up and completely exhausted myself during the 3.1 miles and 20 obstacles,” she says. “I was so ashamed of myself and my performance. I decided that day that I needed to make a change.”

At the time, she weighed over 220 pounds with a body fat percentage of close to 40%. The change she made was diving back into Dr. Stoppani’s programs, supplements, and nutrition guidance. 

“I trained hard, followed Dieting 101 , and implemented several different JYM products ,” Alyssa says. “The Shred and strength programs are usually what I stick to. I raced completely solo in 2023 and completely blew my previous race results out of the water!”

Alyssa is currently at a body weight of around 138 pounds, with 27% body fat. She recently completed HIIT 100 , the workout program featured in multiple JimStoppani.com challenges (including the 2023 Holiday Shred Challenge). 

On top of all the physical results, Alyssa has also transformed her confidence and mental toughness. And she credits all of it to her new lifestyle. 

After all the struggles and all the obstacles, Alyssa has only gratitude to express: “I can never thank Jim enough for helping me change my life and helping me to discover just how strong I really am!”
